What We Confess
We believe you should know what we believe and where we stand when it comes to doctrine and Christian teaching. In short — we are a bible believing church (that means all of it) that worships, serves and functions within a Southern Baptist tradition. However, it could also be said that we are a conservative, evangelical, mission-minded body of believers. Although our beliefs are an exhaustive subject – suffice it to say that we can be described in the following way:
We are Convictional
We hold to certain non-negotiable convictions concerning the truth of God’s Word.
We are Confessional
We do not hold to any one creed but we are a confessional people who serve within the parameters of a common confession of faith.
We are Communal
We believe that what we believe is to be expressed within the context of the community of the local church — so it is our church, not some denomination or another body, which determines our understanding of our beliefs and our expression of them.
We are Commissional
We believe that WHAT we believe is of no importance if it does not drive us to fulfill the Great Commission (Mathew 28:16ff). We believe that doctrine is for the purpose of motivating and regulating our outreach to others! It is safe to say we are a “Great Commission Church”
We Believe:
- We believe the bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God.
- We believe in the Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ and none other.
- We believe that salvation is the free gift of God and we are saved by grace, through faith and nothing more.
- We believe that one is saved when they repent of their sin and place their faith in the finished work of Christ.
- We believe in believers’ baptism, which immersion following salvation.
- We believe membership in the local church should matter and be meaningful.
- We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus and the believer.
- We believe that Jesus is coming again!
